Plan a trip to Thailand from India

Thailand is a country located in Southeast Asia. It consists of 76 provinces. Known for its friendly and helpful people, unique culture and history, Thailand receives a large number of tourists from all over the world every year. Its temples, monasteries, beaches, weather, people and food, these are only a few things that attract the hearts of people to pay a visit to this wonderful place. It is one of the most populated countries of the world. Its capital Bangkok is the hub of workforce. Bangkok is known for the grand lifestyle that people live there, and also for its street life. There is nothing that you will not find here. If you are planning a holiday trip with your family and friends, but cannot decide the destination, I would say you should definitely visit Thailand.

To reach Thailand, there are a number of direct flights from India. You can board a flight from Kolkata to reach Thailand directly. There are two International Airports in Bangkok – Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport. You can also board direct flights to Thailand from New Delhi, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai. These flights will land mostly at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The fastest flights to Thailand depart from Kolkata’s Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, which takes less than three hours to reach Thailand. Airlines connecting India and Thailand are Thai Airways, Jet Airways, Air India and Cathay Pacific. There are also direct flights to UdonThani, Phuket, Chiang Mai, hat Yai, but with stopovers in Singapore, Malaysia or Hong Kong.  And yes, passport and visa are necessary to travel to Thailand, so make sure you have one.

Make sure you carry cash with you, and regarding that, do not forget to convert your Indian currency into Thai Baht. If you plan on using the ATMs there and you have a VISA card, you will be charged 150 Baht for every transaction you make. Therefore it is advisable to carry cash, although safely, in case you do not want to lose cash in transactions.

Here is a list of things you should definitely do in Thailand:
